Dr. Pawan Mahat

Dr. Pawan Mahat is an Associate Professor and Vitreoretina and Phaco Surgeon at Patan Academy of Health Sciences. He completed his MD in Ophthalmology from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in 2015 and an 18-month fellowship in Vitreoretina Surgery at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology in 2019. With over six years as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Mechi Eye Hospital, Dr. Mahat has served eastern Nepal and neighboring countries. He has led numerous surgical eye camps in remote areas, restoring vision for many lacking access to healthcare.A skilled surgeon and academician, Dr. Mahat is a lifetime member of the Nepal Medical Association, Nepal Ophthalmic Society, and Nepal Vitreoretina Society. He has presented at various national and international conferences and currently serves on the executive committee of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society.
